А еще есть вопросы. Перевод сделала (худо/бедно), а вторую часть вопроса не понимаю. Что значит "обратить внимание на сказуемые с модальным глаголом или с эквивалентом модального глагола. "?
1) The smaller the computers, the faster it can work./Чем меньше компьютер, тем быстрее он работает.
2) He had to work much before he was able to complete research./Он много работал, прежде чем смог завершить исследования.
3) No traffic was allowed along the street because of the accident./Из-за аварии движение по улице было остановлено.
4) The new words should be repeated as often as possible./Новые слова следует повторять как можно чаще.
5) In the foreseeable future we may have long-term orbital stations and laboratories with researchers./В ближайшем будущем у нас могут быть долгосрочные орбитальные станции и исследовательские лаборатории.

1. Чем  меньше  компьютер, тем быстрее он  может работать. Не забыть  сделать акцент на  "мочь".
2 Он был  вынужден  много работать,  прежде  чем. to have to. Эквивалент  модального глагола  "должен", но  со  смыслов  "вынужден".
